Chennai: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday won the toss and elected to bat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the tenth Indian Premier League (IPL) match here at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Eoin Morgan-led KKR will look to get back to winning ways after they failed to build on a good start and lost track, and went on to lose the second match against MI thereafter. Contrarily, RCB will look to up their game and strengthen their position in the points table.
Pitch Report: The innings here thus far have been divided into two halves, if recent matches are anything to go by. The first ten over has been good for batsmen and they should look to score as much as possible in the powerplay overs today. The second one has been tricky owing to the slowness of the pitch and spinners coming into action. Batsmen should look to smartly veer their way towards a good total.
KKR will take the field unchanged.
At the toss, KKR captain Eoin Morgan said, "We were looking to bat first as well, we've played good cricket despite the last game. No changes for us, same team. We have done pretty well in the first two games, and want to finish things in Chennai on a high. When I was the vice-captain, my role was to support DK, now as a captain, it's just about letting the team flow and make the correct decisions on the field. Obviously, have a lot of support from the backroom staff."
For RCB, Rajat Patidar finds himself in the playing XI in place of Dan Christian.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli, after winning the toss, said, "We will bat first, the pitch will become slower and slower as the game goes on, but this surface looks better, want to put up a decent total on the board. We're playing three overseas players - Dan Christian misses out, Rajat Patidar is in. We just want to do a professional job, do the process right, take one game at a time and enjoy - keep calm under pressure.
