Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday won the toss and opted to field first against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here at Wankhede Stadium.
While DC made a superb start under their new captain Pant with a seven-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in their opening contest, RR suffered a heart-wrenching four-run defeat against Punjab Kings in a high-scoring match on Monday night.
Pitch report: The pitch, with a tinge of grass cover on it, will hugely favour batsmen. Short boundaries on either side will let flow a lot of boundaries. A big score is on the cards.
At the toss, RR captain Sanju Samson said, "We would like to bowl first. The conditions demand that. We have to take learning experiences and move on. We have plans for every batsman. You take the aerial route and goes over expected to go for runs here. We are ready to score it back. Miller comes in for Stokes. Unadkat replaces Gopal."
On the other hand, losing toss didn't matter for Rishabh Pant as the Delhi Capitals side brace for the game. "Toss doesn't matter. The surface looks good. The team that plays well wins. Hetmyer misses out, Rabada comes back. Lalit Yadav makes his debut," the skipper said.
