And now this MANKADED is the word on which former Indian skipper Sunil Manohar Gavaskar expressed his reservation into.
"It really has been depressing and disappointing reading the Indian media over the last few days. The lack of respect shown to an Indian legend and referring the run-out by a bowler as 'Mankad' is indeed very sad", lamented Gavaskar.

Gavaskar also supported his reaction by the following facts :
- A batsman staying at the crease even after knowing the ball kissed his bat is not referred as doing a WG - the legendary batsman of yesteryears.
- Former Australian skipper Steve Waugh claimed a catch to dismiss the West Indian Brian Lara even after knowing that the ball bounced before . These type of actions isn't being described as doing a Waugh. same way, "why these kind of run outs be called "Mankaded" tarnishing the legend's name", asked Sunny.
Gavaskar also questioned why that incident of run out be called as "Browned" rather than Mankaded ? Which he felt have tarnished the name of Vinoo Mankad to a great extent.
