The southpaw was dropped on 83 by Virat Kohli off Umesh Yadav and he celebrated the moment hitting a six in the very next ball.
This would have been Gayle's 1st hundred of the 2019 Indian Premier League.
With one ball remaining in the KXIP innings, Gayle needed a six to get to triple figures but he only managed a boundary and finished on 99 not out.
