Jaipur: A new controversy erupted in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 as Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin mankaded destructive Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler, who was going hammer and tongs.

A visibly upset Buttler was found fuming. As he walked off the field contemporary and formers cricketers took the twitter to slam Ashwin as 'mankading' is believed to be a stigma against the spirit of the gentlemen's game cricket.
At the same time, some came to Ashwin's rescue as well.
Ashwin, who was bowling his fourth over, found Buttler walking out of his crease even before the ball was delivered and rolled the arm to remove the bails to send fluent Buttler back to the pavilion.
Buttler smashed 68 off 42 balls with 10 fours and two sixes.
Notwithstanding, Buttler's controversial dismissal changed the complexion of the game as it helped KXIP to win their campaign opener by 14 runs.
The on-field umpire immediately referred the decision to the third umpire, who eventually ruled Buttler out as Ashwin's way of dismissing Buttler was not against the law.

In the meantime, Buttler, the umpire and Ashwin had a heated exchange thereafter.
Meanwhile, former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris has a completely different opinion on 'mankading'.
However, this is not the first time Buttler was mankaded. In 2014, he was dismissed in a similar fashion by Sri Lanka's Sachitra Senanayake who found him walking out of the crease and removed the bail to dismiss him.
