Hyderabad: Five Indian players, one outing and so many controversies.

Even before the controversy that Indian player violated COVID-19 protocols by dining at a restaurant in Melbourne was doused, there is another problem for Rohit Sharma and co. And this time it is not from the Australian media but from their own fans.

Days after, an image posted by a fan who claimed that he paid for Indian players dinner at a Melbourne restaurant surfaced on Twitter, the netizens spotted that during their night out, Rohit and co. consumed pork and beef and ever since then all hell went lose on Twitter.

Here is what Twitterati has to say:

  • Interesting day on Cricket Twitter, from what I can gather 5 Indian players were tricked into going into a restaurant then force-fed beef in fiendish plot by the Australians (With an Indian waiter patsy) to get the Tests called off and bankrupt themselves 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    🧐🧐🧐 #AUSvIND

It all started after a fan, identified as Navaldeep Singh, tweeted pictures and videos of cricketers Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini and Shubman Gill having a meal at a restaurant.

The fan, who claimed that he was seated close to the players at the restaurant, later apologised for creating confusion by claiming that he had been hugged by Pant after he paid for the players' meal.

Following the incident, there were reports that Indian players violated COVID protocols during their night out and BCCI was investigating the same. However, BCCI on Saturday rubbished reports and termed the rumours "a malicious spin by a section of Australian media."
