Birmingham: Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza said on Monday, that his side must 'play better' ahead of their must-win World Cup clash against India on Tuesday.

England's impressive 31-run win over India on Sunday has made the tie at Edgbaston a must-win for the Bangla Tigers.

Bangladesh know that only two wins in their two remaining matches including their last match against Pakistan later in the week will give them any chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

Addressing the Media before the all-important clash, Mortaza quipped, "Yeah, a 100%. I think, two matches left we have to play at our best and if we can manage to win, you know, that will be great. But to be honest, both side's are very strong (India and Pakistan), we have to think about tomorrow. India is a very strong side, you know, in this World Cup and it's not going to be easy but we have to play hard and have to be 100% in every area. And it's a good thing that we are still in the tournament, maybe, maybe not. But we have to play a lot better than we have been playing.''Bangladesh currently have seven points while India are on eleven points.

India's defeat on Sunday has exposed a few chinks in their armour, especially the way the England batsmen attacked the Indian spinners.

The teams have faced each other thrice in the world cups with India having won twice (2011 and 2015) while Bangladesh defeated India once in 2007.
