Birmingham: Rohit Sharma scored his 4th World Cup ton as India posted 314 in 50 overs. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Indian openers dictated the proceedings as the duo of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul stitched on a mammoth partnership of 180 for the first wicket.
Rohit Sharma (104) and KL Rahul (77) helped India provide a solid foundation, however, the Indian middle-order collapsed as the Men in Blue went on to post 314 in their allotted 50 overs after losing 6 wickets.
Rishabh Pant (48) and MS Dhoni (35) played an impressive cameo that further helped India propel to 300+. Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers as the left-arm quickster went on to pick 5 wickets, his 4th five-wicket haul, which was one of the primary reasons as to why India could not post more than 320+ runs.
The Tigers now need 315 to chase against India and be alive in contention for a semis berth.
