Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes youngest batsman to score double ton in 50-over cricket

Yashasvi became the youngest centurion in List A cricket. The Mumbai batsman, who made his List A debut in the ongoing series (2019-20) season, has been making waves in Indian domestic cricket circle for quite some time now, thanks to his superb form.

Bengaluru: 17-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted a new domestic batting record, smashing a double ton against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match here on Wednesday.

In the process, he became the youngest centurion in List A cricket. The Mumbai batsman, who made his List A debut in the ongoing series (2019-20) season, has been making waves in Indian domestic cricket circle for quite some time now, thanks to his superb form.

Before this match, he had scored two centuries against Goa and Kerala respectively.

The southpaw took 149 balls to reach 200 runs mark with the help of 17 boundaries and 12 sixes.

Jaiswal also became the third batsman in Vijay Hazare Trophy history after K.V. Kaushal and Sanju Samson to hit a double ton in country's premier one-day tournament.

His dazzling double ton came to end when he was caught by Rahul Shukla off Vivek Tiwari for 203 (154).

His knock came against a quality bowling attack comprising pacer Varun Aaron and spinners Anukul Roy and Shahbaz Nadeem.

The son of a shopkeeper from Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, left his home town in quest of cricket pursuits in the 'City of Dream', Mumbai.
