World Cup 2019, Warm-up match: Bangladesh win toss, opt to bowl first
India will look to fix their batting issues as their top-heavy line-up flattered to deceive in bowling-friendly conditions at the Oval.
Cardiff: Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first against India in the warm-up game of ICC World Cup 2019 at Sophia Gardens here.
India's primary objective during the practice games is to fix their middle-order problems but Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar, who are likely to fill in the important Nos 4 and 6 in the tournament proper, have not fully recovered from their respective injuries.
The Men in Blue will look to fix their batting issues as their top-heavy line-up flattered to deceive in bowling-friendly conditions at the Oval as Trent Boult troubled them with both swing and seam movement.
However, the six-wicket defeat against New Zealand won't be a big worry for Virat Kohli as he has some bigger issues to take care of.
Kohli is bound to be a worried man if Jadhav and Shankar are unable to get a decent hit against Mashrafe Mortaza's men before facing a tricky opposition like South Africa in its tournament opener at Southampton on 5 June.
On the other hand, Bangladesh couldn't get much match practice as their fixture against Pakistan was washed out without a ball being bowled but the Tigers will be riding high on confidence as they are coming into the World Cup on the back of a tri-series win in Ireland.
Talking about squad then both the teams will play with 14 players each, however, India will be without the service of Jadhav.
