Manchester: Rohit Sharma's sparkling 140 from 113 balls helped India extended its winning run against Pakistan at the World Cup following a 89-run victory at Old Trafford on Sunday after rain delays saw the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method enforced.
While India posted a huge 336/5, Pakistan could only accumulate 212/6 in 40 overs, before rain intervened to hand India the win via DLS method.
Interestingly, it was India's seventh win in seven World Cup matches against their arch-rivals.
Meanwhile, at the post-match press conference, Man of the Match Rohit Sharma was asked by a Pakistani journalist as to what advice he would give as a colleague to the Pakistan batsmen as they are going through a crisis.
Replying to the journalist, Rohit smiled and quipped that he would be able to advise only after he was made the Pakistan team coach.
"Agar main Pakistan ka coach bana to main bataunga, abhi kya bataunga!(If I become the coach of Pakistan then surely I will tell you. What can I say now!)," replied Rohit.
