Hyderabad: Cricket Australia on Monday released their Test XI of the decade in which only one Indian made it to the star-studded side. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the only Indian who has made it to the prestigious team.
The team boasts of four English players, three Australians, two South Africans and one New Zealand player along with Virat. Former England skipper Alastair Cook and Australian opener David Warner have been named as the openers of the side.
At number three, Cricket Australia picked Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson while at number four Steven Smith has been picked ahead of Kohli. Kohli is at number five and has been named the captain of the side.
Virat is followed by former South Africa captain AB de Villiers. England's Ben Stokes has been picked as the only allrounder in the squad.
In the bowling department, Cricket Australia has gone ahead for three pacers and one spinner. Dale Steyn, James Anderson and Stuart Broad are the pace trio while Nathan Lyon has been chosen as the sole spinner in the squad.
With the likes of Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and other legends all retiring from the game at the start of the decade, Virat Kohli played a huge role in India's seamless transition.
At present, Virat is the number one Test batsman in the world while India are at the top of ICC Test Rankings for more than three years now.
