Lahore: Clinical Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan, the number one ranked T20I side, by 35 runs to claim three-match Twenty 20 International series 2-0 with one match to go here at Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.
Left-handed batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa's 77 off 48 balls and Shehan Jayasuriya's 34 runs innings laid the foundation of Sri Lanka's innings after they decided to bat first winning the toss.
After Sri Lanka put up massive 182 for 6 on the board at the end of 20 overs pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep did a commendable job with the ball in hand as he scalped four wickets giving away 25 runs during his neat and tight four overs.

His victims were Babar Azam, Asif Ali, Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hasnain. Pradeep was ably supported by young leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga (3/28) and left-arm medium-pacer Isuru Udana (2/38) as Pakistan were bowled out for 147 in the penultimate delivery of the 19th over.
In reply to Sri Lanka's 183 Pakistan lost wickets in regular interval. They lost their top five for mere 52 runs. Later, Imad Wasim tried to salvage their innings during his 47 runs innings, but as Udana trapped him on the front pad Pakistan's challenge in the match came to halt. Wanindu's three scalps in an over further dented Pakistan's credentials.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play third and final T20I of the series on October 9 at the same venue.
