Shannon Gabriel warned by umpires for abusive language

St. Lucia: West Indies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel was warned by the umpires for using abusive language following an altercation with England skipper Joe Root during the third day of the third Test match here on Monday.

TV footage shared on social media appeared to show Root responding to a comment from Gabriel by saying: "There is nothing wrong with being gay."

Although the stump mics couldn't pick up what Gabriel actually said and later Root refused to disclose the same.

"Sometimes people say things on the field they might regret, but they should stay on the field". "He's a good guy who plays hard cricket and is proud to be in the position he is. The battle was a good contest, he's had a wonderful series and he should be proud.
