Abu Dhabi: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya smashed 60 runs of just 21 balls to help his side post a mammoth total of 195/5 against Rajasthan Royals here at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Saurabh Tiwary also contributed with the bat for the visitors.
After winning the toss, Mumbai's stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard opted to bat first but their openers could not make most of the condition and give MI a solid start as Quinton de Kock was dismissed in the very first over by Jofra Archer. Kishan played a run a ball innings of 37 runs in his second match as an opener in IPL 2020.
Kishan was then dismissed by Kartik Tyagi in the 11th over of the innings when MI's scoreboard read 90/2. After Kishan's wicket Mumbai lost two more wickets in quick time as Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard was sent back by Shreyas Gopal.
In at number six Hardik Pandya took the charge on RR bowlers from the word go. In his inning of 60 runs, he smashed seven sixes and two boundaries. His strike rate was almost 300.
For RR, Archer and Gopal picked two wickets each while Kartik Tyagi managed to take just 1 wicket. Ankit Rajpoot had an off day as he leaked runs at an economy of 15.
