Ranji Trophy: Match referees will take final call during Solar Eclipse 2019

The world will witness "Annual Solar Eclipse" on Thursday and it will be the third and final solar eclipse of the year.

Hyderabad: The Indian cricket board (BCCI) is yet to decide whether the day two fixtures of the Ranji Trophy will be rescheduled due to Solar Eclipse on Thursday (December 26).

The world will witness "Annual Solar Eclipse" on Thursday and it will be the third and final solar eclipse of the year. The 'Annual Solar Eclipse" is also known as "ring of fire".

This year the Solar Eclipse will be the most visible from the southern part of India - Kerala's Cheruvathur.

But watching the Solar Eclipse with naked eyes may cause damage to the eye retina.

“We haven’t taken a call on how things pan out on Thursday. We’ll leave it to the match referees,” Saba Karim, BCCI General Manager (Cricket Operations) said.

The match between Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh in Mysuru will be affected due to the Solar Eclipse.

The eclipse will start at 7.59 am IST and go on till 1.35 pm IST.
