Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni completed 4000 runs in the Indian Premier League. The wicket-keeper batsman achieved this milestone in the match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.
The talismanic batsman is the second CSK cricketer to be featured in the list. Suresh Raina is the first one to score 4000 plus runs for CSK. Raina has a tally of 5086 runs from 180 matches in 12 years of IPL.
In IPL, Dhoni has as many as 4135 runs under his belt in 179 matches at an average of 40.94. But 574 of his runs have come while playing for now-defunct Pune Warriors.
Interesting fact about the former Indian captain MS Dhoni is that he has fifty in every season of IPL. The 37-year-old has 21 half-centuries, 19 for CSK and two for Rising Pune Supergiant, against his name in 178 matches. As Dhoni bats down the order, he has not scored a century in the league.
Dhoni has led CSK to playoffs in all the seasons out of which CSK has won three IPL titles. The trend continues in this season as well as CSK has started the season on high by winning three out of four matches so far.
