Mumbai: When every aspiring cricketer looks to imitate what the legendary wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has done on the cricketing field, Sanju Samson wants to carve his own path and feels no one can be like the CSK captain.
"I don't think anyone can be like MS Dhoni. I would like to be myself. Sanju Samson will be good enough," Samson, who will lead Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2021, was quoted as saying by RR's website.
Samson will captain RR for the current season after the franchise decided to let go of Steve Smith at the IPL auctions.
The Royals found themselves at the bottom of the table in IPL 2020 with the slightest of margins as they were only two points behind the third and fourth-ranked team.

The team had started off brilliantly but lost the way in the middle of the tournament and Samson thanked the fans for supporting the team during that phase and promised a better show come IPL 2021.
"I would like to thank each and every fan out there for supporting our team and being with us no matter what. I'll make sure that we play some good cricket for you guys and bring a smile on your faces. Thanks a lot, guys," Samson said.
RR added South African all-rounder Chris Morris to their squad for Rs 16.25 crore -- the most expensive buy at the mini-auction in February.
The management also bought Bangladesh's left-armer Mustafizur Rehman for their fast bowling setup and Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube to boost their lower order.

Praising the team management, he said, "I think our team management did a fantastic job in the auction and we got almost every player we wanted. Each and every player's role is going to be crucial in this season."
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians will face each other in the IPL opener which is set to begin on April 9. RR will play their first match on April 12 against Punjab Kings in Mumbai.
