While many fans and experts believe that Virat Kohli, who is on the peak of his career, is the best batsman in the world and will most likely become player of the tournament for the second time, Warne surprisingly picked young Indian sensation Sanju Samson to be the player of the tournament.

The talented Samson has played 81 IPL games in which he has nearly scored 2000 runs. Along with 10 fifties, the Kerala batsman has smashed one century in the cash-rich league.

Interestingly, if he manages to win the player of the tournament award then he will be only third Indian to clinch the title after Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.

It was really surprising that Warne picked the 24-year-old ahead of many cricket legends like AB de Villiers, Kohli, Suresh Raina and Chris Gayle who will be playing the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Royals will be led by the Ajinkya Rahne and comeback of their former captain Steve Smith may give the team the much-needed boost. If Samson performs up to the expectation then RR will be a team to beat in the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals will start their campaign against Kings XI Punjab on 25th March 2019.
