India's squad for West Indies series announced

India and West Indies are slated to play three ODIs and as many T20Is. The series is scheduled to start on December 6 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Mumbai: Skipper Virat Kohli and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar return to the side as the All India Senior Selection Committee met here on Thursday to pick the India's ODI and T20I squads for the forthcoming series against West Indies.

Also, Mohammed Shami made a comeback to the shortest format while Krunal Pandya was dropped.

Shami was included in T20Is with Bhuvneshwar Kumar returning to the fold in both the formats a long injury layoff.

Krunal was also dropped from the T20 squad with Ravindra Jadeja preferred as the allrounder. Shivam Dube also made it to the one day squad along with Deepak Chahar, who snared T20 best bowling figures of 6/7 against Bangladesh recently.

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was also picked in both the squads after being out of favour for quite some time.

The T20Is will take place in Mumbai on December 6, Thiruvananthapuram on December 8 and Hyderabad on December 11, while the ODIs will take place Chennai on December 15, Visakhapatnam on December 18 and Cuttack on December 22.

The Men in Blue recently played three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and managed to come out triumphant.

India lost the first T20I against Bangladesh at Delhi, but the side managed to make a comeback in the next two matches to win the series 2-1.

On the other hand, West Indies managed to defeat Afghanistan 3-0 in the three-match ODI series, but the side lost the T20I series 2-1 at Lucknow.

India and West Indies last played three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests earlier this year. The Men in Blue came out triumphant in each of the series.
