Hyderabad: After Team India's heartbreak in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019, Virat Kohli and co. have reshifted their focus on their upcoming tour of West Indies, starting on August 3.
Kohli-led Team India are scheduled to play three-match T20I series, three-match One Day International and two-match Test series against West Indies. Men-in-Blue's 45-day long Windies tour will kick-start on Saturday with both teams taking on each other for the opening T20I match at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday.
India and West Indies will also kick-start their campaign for World Test Championship with two-match Test series that will be played on August 22 and 30.
The T20I series between India and Windies kick-starts in Florida, the United States before both the sides will travel to the Caribbean for the final game.
India and Windies have faced each other 11 times in the shortest format of the game with both winning five matches while one match ended with no result.
Three times India took on Windies at their home soil with visiting team losing two matches.
Ahead of the T20I series between India and West Indies, here we take a look at some of the interesting stats:
1- Last time when India faced West Indies in Lauderhill, the Windies team posted the highest T20I total between both the sides -- 245. Even though India lost the match they were able to score 244 runs.
2- Evin Lewis holds the record for highest T20I total between India and West Indies. He had smashed an unbeaten 125 off just 62 balls in 2017 at Kingston in 2017.
3- India's ODI vice-captain Rohit Sharma is the second cricketer to breach the mark of hundred runs in IND vs WI T20I series. He scored an unbeaten 111 in 2018 against Windies.
4- 194 is the highest total scored between both the side in West Indies. The hosts team achieved this mark in 2017.
5- Windies opener Lewis (12 sixes) holds the record for the most number of sixes in a T20I match between both the nation.
5- West Indies' Darren Sammy’s 4/16 against India at Port of Spain in 2011 is the best bowling performance by a bowler in the shortest format of the game between two teams.
