Put in to bat first, West Indies's start was not great as they lost opener Lendl Simmons for two runs in 1,2 overs.
However, Evin Lewis along with Brandon King brought his side back on the track as the duo snitched 51 runs for the second wicket.
Lewis scored 40 runs off just 17 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes. Following his departure, Shimron Hetmyer joined King at the crease and the duo took Windies innings forward.
Ravindra Jadeja gave India third breakthrough by removing a set King from the attack and the visitors' skipper Pollard walked to bat at number five.
Even though Pollard's stay at the crease was not long, he demolished Indian bowlers. He scored 37 runs off 19 balls with the help of fours sixes and one four.
Shimron Hetmyer scored his maiden fifty in the shorted format of the game before he became the first victim Yuzvendra Chahal.
After the successive departure of Pollard and Hetmyer, former skipper Jason Holder and Denesh Ramdin gave the visitors a flying finish.
For India Chahal bagged two wickets giving away just 36 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar and Washington Sundar took one wicket each.
