Hyderabad: Hemang Amin, the chief operating officer of the Indian Premier League, was on Monday, appointed as interim chief executive officer (CEO) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after former CEO Rahul Johri's resignation was accepted by the board.
Speaking to media, a functionary said that it was an apt move at this point in time as Amin has been one of the hardest workers in the BCCI in the last couple of years.
Also, a former office-bearer who worked with Amin said that the latter has been a sincere worker and someone who has the interest of the BCCI at heart.

BACKGROUND
- Amin joined the operations team of IPL in 2010 and became the COO in November 2015 following the resignation of Sundar Raman, who is the former COO of IPL.
- Mr. Amin was most recently Asst. General Manager – Finance, Commercial & Events at BCCI and was recognized for successfully handling the management and operations of world’s premier T20 league – IPL. He has been with BCCI for the last 7 years.

Hemang Amin has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently busy working on this year’s IPL which has been postponed.
Amin is known to be a hard-working executive, who is mainly credited for an incident-free IPL in 2019.
He as an IPL COO played a major role in deciding on doing away with the opening ceremony last year and rather donate the fund to the Pulwama martyr's families.
