Manchester: Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib has expressed that dropping the catch of England skipper Eion Morgan on a crucial point cost his team the game. Afghanistan was beaten by England by 150 runs.
After the match at the press conference when the captain was asked if he thinks that there were any positives from the match Naib said, "Yes, we take a lot of positives today. We did well in every department.'
Talking about the turning points he said, "So it's a cricket game, we missed one catch off Morgan so maybe the game we lost from there. If you see after 30 overs they scored like around 180, 170-something. So they smashed 200 runs, 210 runs only in 20 overs and in the last ten overs they scored 140 runs."
Afghan captain praised England skipper Morgan for his extraordinary display of batting skills and also said that the left-hander took the match away single-handedly.
"Credit goes to Morgan, especially for his batting. Je showed his class, I never have seen this sort of batting, especially off Morgan so credit goes to them. Yeah, we take a lot of things from here," he added.
