Exclusive: Tilak Varma opens-up about the Under 19 World Cup final fracas

Talking about India's defeat in the final, Tilak said, "The team was disappointed with the result. And they were feeling it in their bones," before adding that the losing is part of the game.

Hyderabad: Indian Under-19 cricket team's number three batsman Tilak Varma in an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat on Thursday opened up about Boys in Blue's defeat in the final of the World Cup by Bangladesh and the fracas that took place moments after.

Talking about India's defeat in the final, Tilak said, "The team was disappointed with the result. And they were feeling it in their bones," before adding that the losing is part of the game.

When asked about the final match, Tilak said, "In the morning when the Indian team walked to bat in the first innings the wicket was a bit seaming. And it has rained a lot before the match. That's why the Indian opener took a bit of time in settling."

Tilak also said that being a part of Indian colts was like a dream come true.

Talking about the much-publicised on-field fracas between India and Bangladesh squad that took placed after the match, Tilak said, "After Bangladesh won the match, they were a bit excited and in the heat of the moment they came on Indian players."

However, he also explained that the support staff came on the ground within minutes as the incident took place to control the situation.

When asked about his favourite Indian player, there was a sly smile on Tilak's face as he quirky took veteran all-rounder Suresh Raina's name.
