Talk us through your cricketing journey?
The Vizag-based cricketer said, "When I was 5-6 years old, I used to play cricket on the street with my friends. There was a lot of sabotage, causing trouble for the neighbours. I was in trouble many times. Then my mother and father had thought of letting me go to a cricket club so that I would leave the house for two-three hours. Then I started going to the ground and started my journey from there. "
Bharat also told how he became a wicketkeeper. "I gained a lot due to my nature. I started wicketkeeping because of my playfulness and love for the game. The wicketkeeper always gets the ball, especially in Test cricket. The wicketkeeper has to be active in the game. My coach saw my nature and understood that I can be a wicketkeeper and then I also loved keeping."
While answering the question on his debut in Team India, he said,"To be honest, we should always live in the present. Whatever people say it should not affect you. You have to work hard. Wicketkeeping, training and not thinking much ahead is how I like it. We should go ahead with this routine. I don't live in the future too much and I don't live in the past. "
Bharat was twice in Team India's squad but missed out on playing XI.
What do you think about competition with Pant?
Bharat said that there should always be healthy competition among teammates. He told, "When you play for India no one is guaranteed for the place, no one is in any place forever, you just have to push everyone by performing in domestic cricket and to be honest, I do not consider anyone my competition because I consider myself to be my biggest competitor. If I can beat myself every day, then I am expressing my time on myself. I feel that by giving twice the performance I can make a place in the team. I wish Pant to do good and everybody should do well, including me."
