Hyderabad: After a superb start in the Gandhi-Mandela series wherein Bengaluru born current Indian Opener Mayank Agarwal has so far notched a double hundred (215) and a ton (108) in the three innings that he has batted, Agarwal opens up about his fine form.
In an Exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Mayank says that the last twelve months have been extremely fruitful to him wherein he has scored immensely. He further said that he is extremely contented with his batting performance and is trying to improve as a player consistently.
He further stated that there needs to be a balance in the life of a sportsman as if a batsman has scored a ton today that would not mean that he will achieve the same feat tomorrow, instead he might also fail, thus a sportsman needs to be mentally prepared and take each day as a new beginning.
Suggesting a technical makeshift in his batting approach, Mayank stated that he has been working hard in his leg balance and is in the process trying to understand his game better. He further mentions that if one understands their game better then things get easier.
Mayank further disclosed that he always sets a new target for the next day before sleeping the previous day and tries to fulfil it after waking up. Upon being asked if IPKL has helped him individually to grow as a batsman, Mayank stated that sharing dressing room with the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have helped him learnt a lot about the game.
