"I took 70-80 wickets throughout the year in domestic cricket. Then I have a good IPL season and bowled well for India A. So 2019 was very special for me. "

Rahul made his Team India debut in 2019 against West Indies. Carlos Brathwaite was his first international scalp. Recalling the moment of his first international wicket, he said, "That wicket was very special for me, it was my first wicket for India. He was also the captain of the West Indies team and is considered to be a veteran of T20, so he was a very special wicket for me. "

When he was asked to share his thought on the captaincy of Virat Kohli and Mumbai Indians' skipper Rohit Sharma, he said, "There is not much difference in their captaincy style. Both want to win matches for the team. They treat a youngster like a young brother. It gives me confidence."

Rahul also talked about recent changes to the game brought by ICC. Talking about playing matches without spectators, he said, "There will be a big difference, the enthusiasm will be less. When there are spectators, the energy level gets a boost. But now playing international cricket will be like playing Ranji Trophy."

Meanwhile, talking about ICC's decision to put a ban on saliva use on the ball, he said, "I think ODI and T20 will not make a difference but Test will make a difference because it is very important to shine a red ball to take wickets."
