Korea: Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth entered the second round of the men's singles event at the Korea Masters after beating 37th ranked Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong in men's singles first round, here on Wednesday.
Srikanth thrashed Vincent in straight sets 21-18, 21-17 to enter the second round. He will next take on 14th ranked Kanta Tsuneyame of Japan.
Meanwhile, Sameer Verma also qualified for the round of 16 after his Japanese opponent Kazumasa Sakai retired hurt while trailing 8-11 in the first game.
Another Indian shuttler Sourabh Verma has been knocked out of Korean Masters after losing to Kim Donghun of Korea in men's singles first round 21-13, 12-21, 13-21.
Earlier, Olympic bronze medalist and former World number one Saina Nehwal had withdrawn her name from the prestigious event.
