In another shocking news from the television industry, Abhishek Makwana, the writer of the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah committed suicide after falling prey to a cyber fraud which resulted in major financial loss.

Mumbai: Television writer Abhishek Makwana committed suicide on November 27. The writer who is known for penning popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was found hanging in his apartment here.

According to reports, the Charkop police said that Makwana in his suicide note has mentioned that he is taking the extreme step due to "difficulties in his personal life as well as financial troubles." Abhishek’s brother Jenis has alleged that his brother was a victim of an online financial scam.

While speaking to a leading webloid Jenis said that he came to know about Abhishek's financial troubles only after his demise as he began receiving calls demanding loan paybacks.

"I checked my brother’s mails because ever since he passed away, I got multiple phone calls from different numbers demanding to be paid back loans he owed someone. One call was a number registered in Bangladesh, one in Myanmar and others were from and others were from different states of India," Jenis told the webloid.

Reports also suggest that police officials are trying to trace the numbers from which the family members have been receiving phone calls and will be examining Makwana's bank transactions. However, they are yet to find any evidence of the financial fraud or harassment by the company.
