Hyderabad: Actor-director Divya Khosla Kumar has come out in support of television actor Pearl V Puri who has been booked under alleged rape charges. Divya took to social media to narrate the story about how Pearl is being framed by the minor girl's father.
After Ekta Kapoor, Anita Hassanandani, Nia Sharma and a host of other celebs, now Divya has also extended her support to Pearl. On Monday, Divya took to Instagram to share a lengthy note wherein she introduces the minor girl's parents as a couple fighting for the custody of their daughter.

Making some explosive revelations, Divya has said that the girl's father is trying to frame Pearl in the case to get custody of his daughter. The alleged incident took place on the sets of Ekta Kapoor produced show Bepanah Pyar when the girl was five years old. Speaking about how a significant movement like #MeToo is being misused to settle personal scores.

In her post, Khosla, who has worked with Pearl for music video Teri Aankhon Mein, has also expressed her concern for the child who according to her is "being mentally played with by her own father." Divya has also pointed out the bleak chances of Pearl's career taking off again even if he comes out clean in the case.

Pearl began his career as a television actor with the 2013 show Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat while Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 3 and Bepanah Pyaar made him popular. He was last seen in the television series Brahmarakshas 2.
Puri was arrested on June 4 was allegedly raping a minor in 2019. A case has been registered under the POCSO Act and he is in 14-days judicial custody.
