Mumbai: Actor Trupti Shankhadhar alleges that her father, Ram Ratan Shankhdhar, made an attempt to kill her for refusing to get married to a guy of his choice. The actor posted a video on social media urging Bareilly Police to protect her.
In the viral video, Tripti is seen saying that her father tried to kill her. She also alleged that an attempt was made to cut her hands while she has to endure regular beating and abuse.
The father, who is into real estate business, is apparently asking the actor to return the money he spent on her to send her Mumbai or else to marry the groom of his choice. Tripti, 19, also alleges that her father is forcing her to marry a guy who is 28 years old against her wish.

In the viral video, Tripti is seen with her mother, who seconds actors claims of abuse and torture they faced at the hands of Ram Ratan. Tripti and her mother ran away from home to save their lives. When ran out of options, the actor resorted to social media to seek help from the police.
Trupti has worked in tele serials like Kumkum Bhagya and also in a South Indian film.
The Bareilly police said that they have not received any written complaints but learnt about the actor's post on social media a few hours ago. "We are investigating the matter," said a senior police official.
