Mumbai: A fire broke out on Saturday on the set of Ekta Kapoor's daily soap Kumkum Bhagya. No casualty has been reported in the incident that happened at Killick Nixon Studio in Mumbai's Chandivali area.
The cause of the fire is being speculated as short circuit, though details are yet to come in.
The shooting was in progress when the incident happened, but all actors and crew members were moved to safety.
Kumkum Bhagya stars Shabir Ahluwalia, Sriti Jha, Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul, and is one of the most popular Balaji soaps airing on television.
Shoot for the show had started only a few days ago after months of lockdown.
Recently, Killick Nixon Studio was shut for a few days after Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 actor Parth Samthaan tested COVID-19 positive.
Meanwhile, television actor Pooja Banerjee has replaced Naina Singh in Kumkum Bhagya. The show is going to introduce a new face in the grey character of Rhea, earlier essayed by Naina, who stirs up Ranbir and Prachi’s life.

Speaking about stepping into Rhea's character, Pooja shared: "Roles with grey shades have always intrigued me and unlike positive shades, there is a certain amount of meticulous planning that goes in depicting the best side of that character. I decided 2 years back that I wanted to do grey shade characters and I haven’t looked back ever since. I feel there is so much to play around with such characters and you also get to learn a lot as an actor. Although I am thoroughly excited to join this show and more so intrigued to essay the character of Rhea, the role comes with its share of challenges as well."
"Naina essayed the character with utmost brilliance and brought in so much poise and grace to this role, I hope to bring in the same style that viewers have loved seeing in Rhea. Also, I personally adore Shabir and Sriti. I have watched them on screen since I was in school and have always loved their screen presence, so for me, it will be a pleasure to portray their on-screen daughter," she added.
