Tom Hanks's son updates fans about parent's health on Instagram

Tom Hanks's son Chet Hanks expressed gratitude towards all the fans who wished good health for his mom and dad who have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Besides, he also informed that they both are fine and are not even that sick.

Washington: Chet Hanks shared a video message on Instagram to update his followers about the health status of his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson who have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

According to Fox News, the 29-year old didn't seem to be troubled by his parent's recent diagnosis.

In the clip, Chet also expressed gratitude towards all the fans who wished good health for his mom and dad.

"What up everyone. Yeah, it's true, my parents got coronavirus. Crazy. They're both down in Australia right now because my dad was shooting a movie down there but I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine, they're not even that sick," said Chet, according to sources.

He then thanked all the wellwishers and signed out by saying: "I appreciate everyone's concern and the well wishes but I think it's all going to be alright but I appreciate it and just, everybody stay safe out there. Much love."

Tom who is in Australia made the announcement on Wednesday in a statement.

Australia's confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 122 on Wednesday, with 10 new cases reported by state health officials across the country.

"Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia," Hanks said in a statement.

"We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers, too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive," he added.

He added that he and Wilson "will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires".

"Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We will keep the world posted and updated," he said.

Hanks was shooting for the role of Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley's eccentric manager, who groomed the famous singer to stardom in the 1950s.
