The teaser trailer hints that the Matt Reeves directorial is going to be a grittier take on the Dark Knight mythos. Earlier reports suggested that the film is very much about the emotional connection between Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce Wayne.

The construction of sets is underway by the crew members of the film. Soon after the production halt, the theatrical release date of the film has been pushed back by the Warner Bros. Studios from June 2021 to October 1, 2021.
