Washington: Film Director Matt Reeves on Tuesday kick-started the shooting of the much-awaited flick titled The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.
The director took to social media to share the news with his fans and followers worldwide.
Hopping on to Twitter, Reeves posted a picture of the clapboard which bore the details about the film. Sharing the same, she wrote: "#DayOne #TheBatman."

The movie is a reboot of the Batman franchise. It is expected to have a grounded take on the Dark Knight and will feature many of his villains.
While Pattinson will be seen in the titular role, Zoe Kravitz will essay Catwoman.
Paul Dano is set to play the Riddler, the former employee at Wayne Enterprises who idolises Bruce before turning bad.
The Batman, the first movie in the upcoming trilogy, is set to open in theatres on June 25, 2021.

Speaking about portraying the caped crusader, Pattison has earlier stated: "There was something that always appealed to me about it. I feel like it sort of exists outside the realm of... Batman movies have always attracted really, really good directors and really good actors and it's got a legacy and a lineage to it. It's never seemed to me like it's been just a cash-in for something."
Before Pattinson and after West, Batman has been portrayed by the likes of Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck.
