John Lennon got married to Yoko Ono on March 20, 1969. Knowing their marriage would be a big press event, the couple decided to promote world peace, as the US troops engaged in war with Vietnam.

A message was sent out to members of the press worldwide that read, Come to John and Yoko’s honeymoon: a bed-in, Amsterdam Hotel.
