Los Angeles: The night was cause to celebrate. Distributor Disney had gotten the band back together again -- in this case, most of the stars of the films that comprise the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But some attendees at the Los Angeles premiere of 'Avengers: Endgame' on Monday, weren't sounding exactly celebratory. For one: actor Chris Hemsworth, who returns as Thor in the much-anticipated sequel to last year's cliffhanger of cliffhangers, 'Avengers: Infinity War'.
"Well, just the fact that we knew it was sort of the culmination of, what, 22 films?" Hemsworth said of his mixed emotions. "Ten years with the work and this arrangement of characters and this grouping may never happen again and the sense of pride, nostalgia, bittersweet. You know, it's kind of different than anything I've ever been a part of. Yeah, for those reasons."
With fans all over the world jonesing to see 'Endgame', it came as no shocker when, some two weeks ago, a pirate leaked about five key minutes of the film onto the internet -- including what have been reported to be major plot spoilers.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ will hit the theatres on April 26. The film also marks the final film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe's current generation, which comprises 22 films, including 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and the recently released ‘Captain Marvel’. It will also be the last Marvel movie for some of the key actors, including Chris Evans as Captain America.
The movie which hits the big screens on Friday has witnessed a record advance ticket sale in India with one million tickets sold in just over a day. BookMyShow witnessed a peak of 18 tickets per second, even before the film releases in cinemas on April 26 in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
