Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia, who has appeared in Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu and Malayalam films over the past two decades, has shared that when she was a newbie in the industry a casting director had advised her not to flaunt her grin as according to her, the actor doesn't look good while smiling.

Neha's Bollywood career was preceded by her winning the Femina Miss India pageant in 2002. The actor made her acting debut as a child artist in a Malayalam film named Minnaram, which released in 1994.
Dhupia, who is now a mother of a 2-year-old daughter, is in the film and entertainment industry for more than two decades and recently turned producer with a short film titled Step Out. The journey, however, was not easy as early on she had to deal with criticism which ignited self-doubts when she was just a beginner.

In a recent interview, Neha was asked about the worst advice she has ever received in her career. Narrating an incident that she vividly remembers from her early days in the industry, Neha said, "There was a casting person who said 'don't smile you look terrible when you smile.' I still remember somebody sat in the car and there was this female casting director who told me when I was starting off, 'don't smile you don't look good when you smile.'" Neha said that the casting director's words scarred her when she was just in her teens.

Neha made her Bollywood debut as heroine opposite Ajay Devgn in Qayamat: City Under Threat, and went onto work in films such as Julie, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Tumhari Sulu and Lust Stories among others.
