Yami Gautam starrer A Thursday to release on OTT platform

Yami Gautam's upcoming title A Thursday will directly release on a digital platform. Helmed by Behzad Khambata and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Premnath Rajagopalan, the film is expected to come out on 2021.

Mumbai: Bypassing the theatrical release, Yami Gautam's upcoming film A Thursday will see its premiere on a digital platform.

Helmed by Behzad Khambata and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Premnath Rajagopalan, the film will release digitally in 2021.

In the film, the actor will be seen stepping into the shoes of a playschool teacher.

The Vicky Donor fame actor took to social media to announce the film. She also shared a collage that featured her along with the filmmakers. "More than the weekend, this time, waiting for #AThursday. @behzu @rsvpmovies #RonnieScrewvala #PremnathRajagopalan @bluemonkey_film @pashanjal #FridaysWithRSVP," Yami captioned the post on Instagram.

Sharing an update, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter: "ANNOUNCEMENT... #YamiGautam in #AThursday... A direct to digital release... Directed by Behzad Khambata... Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Premnath Rajagopalan."

"#Yami essays the role of a playschool teacher in the film," he further added.

When asked about the shift to digital platforms, Yami had said earlier: "Films are coming my way with the proposal that it's for the digital platform. This shift is already happening. We don't know when we're going to resume shooting because even after the lockdown is lifted, it doesn't look like the coronavirus will be contained."

Meanwhile, the Badlapur actor has joined the cast ensemble of the upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Police.

Directed by Pavan Kirpalani, the forthcoming flick also stars Saif Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Arjun Kapoor in key roles.
