Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Yami Gautam is known for keeping her social media profile as real as possible. Yami won the love of her fans for ditching a curated wedding for celebrating her roots when she tied the knot with filmmaker Aditya Dhar in June. The actor is again being lauded by her admirers as she dares to share unedited pictures on social media and revealed that she has a skin condition called Keratosis pilaris.
On Monday, Yami took to her Instagram handle to share a string of pictures from her latest photoshoot. Before the pictures were sent for editing, the actor thought of letting go off all her inhibition about the skin condition.
"I recently shot for some images and just when they were about to go in for post-production (a common procedure) to conceal my skin-condition called Keratosis- Pilaris, I thought, ‘Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it. Just let it be... (Yes, I do talk out loud to myself🙋🏻♀)," the actor wrote in the caption.

Sharing the picture on social media Yami penned a lengthy note and shared that she developed Keratosis pilaris in her teens. Revealing more on her condition, Yami wrote, "For those who haven't heard about this, it’s a skin condition wherein you get tiny bumps on the skin. I promise they aren’t as bad as your mind and your neighbor aunty makes it out to be 🙎🏻♀🤷🏻♀) I developed this skin condition during my teenage years, and there is still no cure for it."

After dealing with fear and insecurities for so long, the 32-year-old actor said that she is now ready to accept her flaws. "I've dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go of all my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. I also found the courage to share my truth with you. Phew! 😅," she wrote.
The Sanam Re actor said that she no more feels the need to edit her pictures. "I didn't feel like airbrushing my folliculitis or smoothing that ‘under-eye’ or ‘shaping up’ that waist a tiny bit more! And yet, I feel beautiful :)."
The fans of Yami are lauding her for embracing her flaws and contributing her bit towards redefining beauty standards, body positivity and self-acceptance.
On the work front, Yami was recently seen in the horror-comedy Bhoot Police. The actor has Lost, Dasvi and A Thursday coming up next.
