Mumbai: Ekta Kapoor's television production Naagin which is in its fourth season was meant for the silver screen. The television empress wanted to make a film on the folklore for which she had approached Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
In a throwback interview, Ekta shared that just after The Dirty Picture, she had plans to make Naagin for big screens and for which she tapped Katrina Kaif first but she politely turned it down. Later, Kapoor approached Priyanka who gave her nod to the project but things did not fall in place as that time PeeCee was eying to expand her horizon with ABC's thriller series Quantico.
In another interview, the Balaji Telefilms' head-honcho said that she had just mentioned it to the actors but should have given the context instead as they did not know how big the folklore in India is.

Ekta, in the same interview, revealed that while PeeCee gave her nod, "Katrina did not get the bigness of folklore." The television empress also said that Priyanka and Katrina are women she admires and loves and she is hopeful of working with both of them in future.
“Everyone has this ambition of working with big male stars, even I have the ambition of working with a Priyanka or Katrina because they are such smart women," said Ekta.
Kapoor loves balancing her job profile as a producer on different platforms of entertainment, whether it is film, television or web shows.
On the film front, Ekta's Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar got a world premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival. The film is yet to get a theatrical release date.
She has joined hands with Guneet Monga for Pagglait which stars Sanya Malhotra in lead. Ekta will also be co-producing Ek Villain sequel with Bhushan Kumar.
