Hyderabad: Actor Taapsee Pannu has joined the list of leading ladies of Hindi cinema who ventured into film production. The actor on July 15 announced her maiden production venture Blurr under her banner Outsiders Films. Taapsee is preceded by fellow actors like Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt nad others when it comes to turning producer. The actors-turned-producer factor aside, there is one more aspect that is common among Anushka, Deepika, Alia and Taapsee's maiden production.

After featuring in films like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Band Baaja Baaraat and Jab Tak Hain Jaan, Anushka turned producer with NH 10. The actor announced her production banner Clean Slate Filmz in 2013 and won critical acclaim for the film. In 2018, Deepika added one more feather to her cap by turning producer for Chhappak. Back then, the actor had said that becoming a producer for her was not an economic decision as she aimed "to have a more creative involvement".

The year 2021 marks a career milestone for Alia and Taapsee who announced their production banners four months apart. While Alia announced her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions in April this year, Taapsee's Outsiders Films got launched on July 15.
Though Anushka is ahead in the league now as an established producer with productions like NH 10, Paatal Lok and Bulbbul to her credit, but the debut production ventures of all these divas are united by one common thread which is self-starring.
Anushka delivered a remarkable performance in NH 10 as Meera and won critical acclaim for his performance in the film. Deepika's portrayal of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal in Chhapaak garnered mixed reviews and a lukewarm response from the audience.

Alia and Taapsee have also followed Anushka and Deepika's footprints to headline their debut productions, Darlings and Blurr, respectively.

Another common trait between Taapsee and Deepika donning producer's hat is the number of years they spent in the industry before diving into film production. Both the actors took the plunge after spending more than a decade in the industry while Anushka was the fast mover with around five years of experience as an actor when she announced her banner Clean Slate Filmz.
