Mumbai: Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj who attended the 2019 Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival on Monday spoke at length about Shahid's brilliant performance in his 2014 release Haider.
The 21st edition of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival With Star witnessed a starry affair as celebrities including Zoya Akhtar, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Rohan Sippy, Ajay Bijli and Kaustubh Dhavse among others attended the mega event of the year.
During the press conference held at the film festival, the 7 Khoon Maaf director was all praise for the Kaminey actor.
When asked about Shahid's meticulous portrayal of his character in the film Haider, Vishal said: "He is a very fine actor. The monologues of Haider are famous and the play is famous for these monologues."
He further added: "When he is in a disturbed state of mind he gives monologue and that was a major scene in my film and Shahid performed it so well."
Speaking about the humongous reaction that Shahid's Kabir Singh received, the Pataakha director said: "I think he is a brilliant actor and after a long time the kind of success he deserves, he got with Kabir Singh."
On the sidelines of the event, the director-cum-music composer spoke about his association with the MAMI film festivals.
Giving out messages for the budding filmmakers, he asked them to make good films.
