Hyderabad: Legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam has tested positive for COVID-19. He shared the news of his diagnosis through a video on social media and urged not to worry about his health as he is "perfectly alright."
The 74-year-old singer posted a video on his official Facebook page, stating that from past couple of days he was feeling discomfort due to chest congestion along with cold and fever. As he did not want to "take it easy" he got himself tested and results suggested that he is COVID-19 positive with mild symptoms.

Balasubrahmanyam also said that the medics suggested him to follow medication and home quarantine himself. But the singer insisted on getting admitted as he thought it would be better for the safety of his family.

He signs off by saying, "Please do not bother calling me. I am fine. I'll be fine. Thank you."
During the lockdown, Balasubrahmanyam joined more than 200 singers to create a song titled 'Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam, Vasudev Kutumbakkam'. Every artiste had recorded from home during the lockdown and the song was released on May 17.
