Mumbai: Veteran actor Saira Banu has been admitted to a city hospital. The 77-year-old actor is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hinduja Hospital. According to reports, Saira was rushed to the hospital for issues related to blood pressure and fluctuating blood glucose levels.
The actor was reportedly admitted to the hospital 3 days back after she complained of issues related to blood pressure. According to hospital sources, Saira has been shifted to the ICU ward today.
The actor is admitted to the same hospital where her late husband, legendary actor Dilip Kumar was being treated for age-related issues in July. Dilip Kumar, best known as Tragedy King, passed away on July 7, 2021.
Saira Banu made her Bollywood debut in 1961 with the movie Junglee opposite late actor Shammi Kapoor. She is celebrated for films like Padosan (1968), Hera Pheri (1976), Diwana (1967) and Purab Aur Paschim (1970).
