Mumbai: Vijay will be starring in Lokesh Kanagraj's upcoming film Thalapathy 64. The actor has been finalized to play the leading hero while the other cast and crew are still under wraps.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on his Twitter along with an announcement poster on Saturday.

Thalapathy 64 will be produced by Xavier Britto and the music will be composed by Anirudh. The movie is expected to hit the big screens in April 2020.

According to the reports, Kiara Advani might play the leading lady in the film. However, nothing has been officially announced by the makers yet.
The announcement has made Thalapathy's fans excited as they can't wait for Vijay's next after Bigil.
Vijay's highly awaited film Bigil is a sports drama featuring Thalapathy in dual roles of a son and a father. Vijay will be seen playing a footballer as well as a gangster in the entertaining drama.
Directed by Atlee, the Bigil stars Nayanthara as the female lead besides Indhuja, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha, Reba Monica Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivekh and Yogi Babu in supporting roles.
Interestingly, Vijay, who last lent his voice to the track 'Papa Papa' from 'Bairavaa' in 2017, has also crooned a song in Bigil. The music is given by legendary musician AR Rahman.
Produced by AGS Entertainments, Bigil is slated to release on Diwali.
