Telugu actor Raavi Kondala Rao dies at 88

Veteran actor, director and producer Raavi Kondala Rao who worked in Telugu cinema breathed his last on Tuesday. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao took to Twitter to pay his condolences.

Hyderabad: Veteran actor, writer and stage artist Raavi Kondala Rao passed away on Tuesday. He was 88.

Rao was known as one of the most multi-talented personalities in Tollywood.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao remembered the actor and termed him as one of the finest character artists of his times.

"Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has conveyed deep condolences on the demise of senior actor, writer and stage artiste Ravi Kondalarao. The CM has remembered late Ravikondala Rao as one of the finest character artists of his times and prayed for his soul to rest in peace," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) tweeted.

Kondala Rao started his career as a journalist. He worked as an editor, writer and columnist for English and Telugu dailies and weeklies.

Besides, he was closely associated with the stalwarts of Telugu Cinema such as Bapu-Ramana, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Rallapalli among many others.

The writer-director who predominantly worked in Telugu films made over 600 films to his credits.
