Mumbai: Actor Taapsee Pannu on Friday has finally opened up about the controversy that erupted after her latest Bollywood release titled Saand Ki Aankh.
Released on October 25, 2019, the film is based on the life of women shooters in India namely Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar.
The film featured Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles of the 60-year-old shooter dadis.
Following the film's release, many people threw questions on the star cast of the film asking if it would be a better to choice to cast older actors instead of young ones for the role of the elderly protagonists.
Despite the controversies, the film has completed 50 days of its release in theatres.
Taapsee said that she has faced a lot of criticism. Many questions were raised as to why they have been selected as the lead? Why did they sign it? But now the question has become less frequent.

She felt that after watching the film audiences have understood that their notion about casting young actors for older characters were wrong.
When asked about her opinion on this regard, Taapsee said: "Many people assumed that the film would not be able to run in the theatre even for a few days and now see, even after 50 days it has remained in theatres and is being appreciated by the audience" at large.
She said that she isn't sure if the film will be counted in the history of cinema, but it will definitely be memorable in her and Bhumi's long career for as long as they live.
