Hyderabad: Screenwriter Himanshu Sharma, who was earlier in relationship with Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker has got engaged to acclaimed writer Kanika Dhillon. After a year of courtship, the couple had an intimate ring ceremony in the presence of close family and friends.
Announcing the happy news, Kanika took to Instagram and shared a string of pictures from the ceremony. "#Famjam and more .. with #himanshusharma ❤️..." reads the caption alongside images.

Best wishes started pouring in soon after the news went viral and actors Taapsee Pannu, Sonal Chauhan, Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma were among many other celebrities who congratulated the couple on their big day.
Himanshu is known for blockbusters like Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Raanjhanaa while Kanika has penned Manmarziyan, Kedarnath, Guilty and is currently working on Raj Kumar Hirani’s upcoming directorial venture starring Shah Rukh Khan.

The couple reportedly began dating last year but kept their romance under wraps. Kanika and Himanshu, who made their relationship public in this June, will soon be tying the knot.

For unversed, Himanshu and Swara called it quits in 2019 as he was reportedly not keen on marriage while the Tanu Weds Manu actor was ready to take the leap.
For Kanika, this will be her first serious relationship after she parted ways with her filmmaker husband Prakash Kovelamudi. The couple separated in 2017 but revealed it to the public in 2019.
Meanwhile, when Dia Mirza announced her separation from husband Sahil Sangha in August this year, speculations started doing the rounds that Kanika's closeness with Sahil is the reason behind the end of Dia's married life. The writer, however, had slammed the reports for using her name in Dia's separation from Sahil.
